Foundation, in collaboration with DC Desi Summer, presents headliner Aparna Nancherla and featuring Shahryar
Rizvi for a night of comedy!
Aparna Nancherla
has an intimidating name, but don’t be scared! In fact, she’s quite
approachable onstage, from a heckler’s perspective. She enjoys seeing the world
through awkward contact lenses. Her maiden chuckle voyage took off in
Washington D.C. (it’s all about the Washingtonians), but she now makes her way
in Los Angeles, city of dream journals.
Her
comedic goggles are dry and observational, and her act comes out sprinkled with
absurdist wit and a quasi-whimsical take on the world.

Shahryar Rizvi is a
South-Asian stand-up comedian out of the Washington, DC area. In 2009 he
was runner-up in the Funniest Fed contest. In 2007, he was a finalist in
it and voted the online favorite in Washington Post's poll. He has been
interviewed by the Washington Post, Voice of America, and other
publications. He performs regularly at venues such as the DC Improv.
Don't

Proceeds
from this event will go towards the Upakar
Foundation's scholarship fund and DC Desi Summer travel scholarships and meals for participants.
